Torga Optical Lens Manufacturing has been based in Cape Town since 1997 and has grown into South Africa's largest and most technologically sophisticated lens laboratory. In response to interest from the local community, we opened our Outlet Store to provide professional and affordable eye care directly to the Maitland, Pinelands, Observatory, and greater Cape Town areas in August 2025.

Our experienced team includes a resident optometrist, registered dispensers, and eyewear consultants.

Our Factory Store stocks marked-down and clearance frame stock, sunglasses, contact lenses, and Torga's full prescription lens portfolio. The practice is also equipped with the latest eye care diagnostic technology, including retinal imaging.

We accept most medical aids through our digital claims system. Book online through our booking system, call us, or email us. We also welcome walk-in clients and look forward to seeing you at our Factory Outlet Store.

  • Retinal imaging for glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration detection
  • Eye health assessments: pressure testing, coordination, and peripheral vision
  • Medical aid claims processed on-site (We accept all medical aids, ask us online or in-store about your options.)

Emergency & Express Glasses Service

Need glasses urgently? Our Outlet store is adjacent to Torga Optical Lens Manufacturing facility near the M5 freeway and provides same-day glasses for upcoming travel to/from Cape Town, broken glasses, lost glasses, or other emergency eyewear situations.

Express services:

• Same-day glasses service on selected frames and prescription lenses
• 2 business day service on Multifocals and other specially manufactured lenses
• While-you-wait repairs for minor damage to frames and loose hinges
• Immediate frame replacement from extensive Torga stock
• Priority laboratory processing for urgent prescriptions

Subject to availability, plant capacity and business hours. Same day service on Single Vision lenses – order before 11am. 2 Business Day service on Multifocals – order before 11am on Day 1, ready for collection by 2pm on business Day 3. This information is provided as a guide only.

Keep your favourite frames with professional lens replacement. Our expert technicians fit new prescription lenses to most brands including Ray-Ban, Oakley, and designer eyewear.
